Deception

As Boyd (1995) suggested, defenders can gain a significant advantage by disrupting the attacker's OODA loop. One of the best ways to interfere with the adversary's observations and decision-making process is deception. Defenders should consider deception a critical component of their defensive posture since attackers have repeatedly demonstrated the ability to subvert traditional defenses. In addition to detecting intruders, deception can provide an effective means of identifying internal threats.
