The OODA Loop Revisited
摘要
In Chapter 7 , we examined the OODA loop theory, developed within the context of air-to-air combat by John Boyd, a former USAF pilot. We saw how the OODA loop theory has been applied in many situations beyond its original context, including military, sports, business, and cybersecurity. Boyd emphasized the importance of orientation, which played a central role in his theory. Orientation encompasses observations and the person's experiences, genetic heritage, and cultural traditions. This orientation represents the mental patterns that shape our decisions and actions.
