Engineering Configuration

When a Windows device joins Active Directory, it not only becomes a security principal with permissions on AD objects and structures but also subjects itself to configurations handed down from the domain it is now a member in. There have been attempts to extend this relationship to Linux endpoints as well, but they did not get much traction, even in organizations that do routinely join Linux devices to their AD-based Kerberos realms.
