Usain Bolt was the fastest person on the earth as he finished a 100-meter run in 9.58 seconds in 2009, and the record still holds until today. The time Usain Bolt took to finish a 100-meter run was lower than other competition participants, confirming him as the fastest man on earth. Measuring the participants’ time to finish a 100-meter run is a performance measurement. A 100-meter run represents the category of compete and time represents the unit of measure to indicate the measure of competitiveness. Similarly, every competition has a set of rules and categories for the comparison and units of measure.
