DevOps and SysOps for SAP

One of the primary reasons customers migrate their SAP landscape to AWS is to take advantage of the innovation that AWS offers while also being cost effective in running SAP. SAP customers often report benefits such as faster time to market and increased speed of innovation. This is because their staff becomes significantly more productive using AWS due to the wide range of options available to accelerate build, test, and operational activities, which are typically manual in an on-premises environment. As introduced in Chapter 1 , in this chapter we will explore the end-to-end life cycle of SAP artifacts from a DevOps perspective, covering everything from provisioning infrastructure for SAP to developing and testing artifacts and managing daily operations. We will also explore how to use AWS technologies to manage and maintain the SAP landscape, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability, referred to as SysOps for SAP.
