Building a Language Learning App

Learning a new language can be challenging and requires regular practice in speaking, reading, and writing. ChatGPT, having been trained on an extensive dataset comprising text from the Internet and various books across multiple different languages, has proficiency in several languages other than English. As of August 2024, GPT-4o supports over 50 languages ranging from Spanish and French to Japanese and Arabic. An important aspect of language acquisition is the memorization of vocabulary. In this chapter, we will build a language learning web app using Next.js. The app will use ChatGPT to generate quizzes for learning vocabulary, grading the responses, and providing constructive feedback.
