Alternative Models to OpenAI

Following OpenAI's demonstration of generative AI's potential with the release of ChatGPT, numerous major tech firms shifted focus, and new startups emerged to develop rival alternatives. Though OpenAI initially held a significant technical lead, competitors have since closed the gap, with some even surpassing the performance of ChatGPT and DALL-E in certain areas. In this chapter, we will examine and compare the alternative options that have arisen for both text and image generation models.
