Making Decisions

Decision-making is core to nearly all business and technical functions, and yet rarely discussed as a deliberate process to ensure positive outcomes. Different situations can demand varying involvements in making decisions which makes it hard to define a recipe that works everywhere, but at least we can build a framework that enables us to optimize a decision-making process for the problem at hand. If you do determine that you should enter a deep investigation into several options, be prepared to justify your approach as other managers may wonder why you are putting in effort to a non-coding exercise.
