Driving Innovation

Innovation is not something that happens to you; it is something that you do. If you claim to have an innovative team but passively wait for innovation to happen, you will be disappointed. No matter how you may judge a team’s creativity and intelligence, if they are actively engaged in acts of innovation they will be far more likely to succeed at it. Nor is technology innovation accomplished with a one-and-done brainstorming session, rather it yields to those who persevere. The best part is that an innovation process can be learned and managed, but you should expect the best results if it is a sustained endeavor and permeates your culture.
