摘要

The physical infrastructure must be secure before any robust network security posture can be established. This chapter delves further into the specific concerns for protecting wired network setups. We will look at ways for protecting high-speed and fiber-optic network systems, which are becoming more common in today's data-driven environment. We will address both physical and logical risks to wired network integrity and availability. Finally, we'll look at best practices for hardening wired network infrastructure, such as device setup, access control, and vulnerability management, to help create a more resilient and secure network environment. Understanding and applying these procedures will dramatically reduce the risk of unauthorized access, data breaches, and disruptions to key network operations.
