Usability and Practicality

When looking at the practicality and usability of biometrics in the real world, we encounter limitations and friction that make it more difficult to address the targeted problem. In this chapter, we look into some base-level considerations when designing and implementing a product utilizing biometric data. We begin with a discussion of how workable the product should be in terms of availability, practicality, and usability. Then, we look at the issue of intent—whether the user intends to engage with a system that collects and analyzes their biometric data.
