In addition to setting up shared hosted runners that your developers can run their CI/CD builds on, there are other services that you will probably want to set up. An important service that should be configured is connectivity to an external email service. This will allow GitLab to send email notifications to your users regarding build results and the like. There are also secondary services, such as GitLab pages and GitLab container registries, that you may want to enable; these services are not provided automatically. We’ll consider how to configure these services in this chapter.
