AI and Design

  • Harry Borovick

摘要

Having considered the issues and impacts of AI in the creative writing process in the previous chapter, it is worth considering a similar but distinct review of the legal risks of AI when applied to design and visual creativity. For the purposes of this chapter, “design” means the process of conceptualizing, outlining, creating, using, or monetizing a creation in a visual rather than written medium. This could be a static design such as a drawing or still image, an animation, an audiobook, podcast, song, or even a full video – all of which can already be partially or fully generated using AI systems. This chapter primarily focuses on the visual medium of design, but most of the concepts and risks discussed apply similarly to design in an audio format. Some of these systems are free to use and are quite simple with limited functionalities, but more advanced design tools are often integrated or fully built on top of advanced AI systems. So, design should simply be taken to mean any kind of visual design, even if not specifically discussed within this chapter.
