Generative AI Cloud Platforms

In Chapter 5 , we examined how various providers of generative AI software compete for customers and assessed their investment potential. In this chapter, we investigate these topics from the perspective of generative AI cloud platform providers, comprising the largest publicly traded suppliers of cloud services including Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, known as hyperscalers. Some hyperscalers used their strengths in generative AI software to encourage customers to increase their spending on cloud services. In addition, we examine providers of software and networking services essential to preparing data, training, and operating LLMs on cloud platforms. This chapter answers questions such as:
