Ethics and Professional Practice

We will wrap up our exploration of software development by spending some time talking about ethics and professional practice. That is, how you should act as a computing professional in situations that pose an ethical dilemma. We’ll talk about what ethics is and how it applies to the software industry, what ethical theories exist that will give us some tools, what an ethical argument or discussion is, and how to evaluate ethical situations. Finally, we will go through some case studies to give you an idea of how these evaluation techniques will work.
