Why Has Technical Debt Proved So Resistant to Solutions?

Many have attempted to address technical debt, with varying degrees of success. In this chapter, we look at reasons why this debt problem remains with us, despite our many attempts to solve it. Technical debt is misunderstood, we deal with it at the wrong place, it is neither urgent nor sexy, and addressing it properly requires people to change how they work.
