Motor Impairments

  • Ashley Firth

摘要

People with motor impairments generally experience a partial or total loss of function of a body part and can be affected by chronic pain, muscle weakness, lack of muscle control, or paralysis.1 These impairments impact millions of people, but there has been very little research into the exact number. Microsoft commissioned the last major study and found that roughly 7% of working-age adults have a severe dexterity difficulty that would likely force them to seek alternative methods for navigating the Web.2 The total now is almost certainly more.
