摘要

In summary, despite the fact that test takers obtained slightly higher scores in the CBLT than in the CALT, the constructs tapped by the two tests were the same. Test-takers’ scores in the conventional PPLT predicted their performance in the CALT quite well, while computer familiarity was not associated with the construct measured in the CALT. The factorial invariance of the CALT was maintained across male and female groups, even when evaluated with the most stringent criterion. The three major findings consistently supported the meaningfulness, impartiality and generalizability of the score-based interpretations of the CALT. It is important to note, however, that, in order to fully establish the validity of the CALT, additional evidence, particularly evidence regarding the consequences of using the CALT and decisions that are made on the basis of the score-based interpretations of the CALT, must be considered. Although it is pointed out in Section 3.3 that addressing one claim could be, to some extent, regarded as addressing all the claims in the framework due to the direct linkage involved in the framework, more direct evidence concerning each specific claim would definitely provide a more comprehensive picture of the validation of the CALT.
