Decoupling Effect and Driving Factors Between Transportation Carbon Emission and Transportation Value-Added

Under the constraints of low-carbon development goals, the low-carbon development of transport industry, as a major source of carbon emissions, is particularly important. In this paper, the LMDI decomposition method and Tapio decoupling index are combined to analyze the influence of driving factors on the decoupling state of carbon emissions and added value of transportation industry. During the study period, the development trend of “expansion negative decoupling - expansion connection - weak decoupling” was mainly presented. Energy structure, energy intensity and industry scale are the main factors promoting decoupling, and industry scale is more significant in promoting decoupling, while economic development and population size are the factors inhibiting decoupling. This paper studies the dynamic decoupling relationship between the added value of transport industry and carbon emissions, and clarifies the driving factors behind the decoupling, so as to provide effective suggestions for the development of low-carbon transport.
