Experimental Study on the Role of Thermoelectric Cooling System in Short-Distance Food Transportation

摘要

The utilization of online meal ordering platforms has increased among Chinese citizens in modern society. However, delivering low-temperature food poses challenges. Common practices, such as improving insulation performance or using ice packs, have limitations in effectiveness and convenience. This study incorporates a thermoelectric cooling (TEC) system into food delivery containers to explore its role in short-distance transportation of low-temperature food. Experimental results show that the TEC system significantly reduces the temperature inside the box. When cold water is present, the temperature decline is faster. The TEC system effectively maintains the temperature of cold beverages during delivery and reduces the rate of temperature increase. The compact size of the TEC system allows for easy integration into food delivery boxes, enabling quick implementation of cooling effects. These findings demonstrate the potential of TEC systems in the transportation of refrigerated food and beverages.
