摘要

The objective is to review the latest research on artificial vertebral body and interbody fusion cage and their application in spinal surgery. For the treatment of vertebral diseases such as spinal tumors and myelopathic cervical spondylosis, procedures like en bloc tumor resection and intervertebral disc excision with bone fusion are primarily employed. Following tumor resection surgery, it becomes necessary to reconstruct the deficient vertebral segments or intervertebral discs. In clinical practice, materials such as titanium alloys, PEEK, and ceramics are commonly used to manufacture artificial vertebral bodies and interbody fusion cage for vertebral reconstruction. Currently, the use of 3D printing for fabricating implantable metal medical devices, including 3D-printed titanium alloy or PEEK vertebral implants and interbody fusion cage, is gradually gaining prominence. This article reviews the latest research on artificial vertebral bodies and intervertebral fusion devices in recent years.
