Study of the Effect of Piezoelectric Inkjet Drive Waveform Parameters on Droplet Injection Characteristics

摘要

Piezoelectric inkjet printing technology is widely used in the fields of microinjection, printed electronics and biotechnology due to its high precision, stability and adaptability. The drive waveform of piezoelectric inkjet has a significant impact on the velocity and volume of the droplets injected and whether satellite droplets are formed.In this paper, the finite element numerical simulation software Comsol is used to establish the simulation model of piezoelectric actuator and printhead.The most widely used positive trapezoidal waveform in piezoelectric inkjet is selected as an object to investigate the effect of drive waveform parameters on the droplet injection characteristics. The main parameters are the voltage rise time trise, the voltage dwell time tdwell and the voltage fall time tfall.The results show that the voltage rise time trise mainly affects the first negative pressure generated inside the chamber, the voltage dwell time tdwell and voltage fall time tfall have a great influence on the droplet injection velocity, and the droplet velocity increases first and then decreases with the increase of voltage dwell time tdwell and voltage fall time tfall.
