Future Development of Automated Technique for Clinical Microbiology

摘要

At the current scenario, the human population is suffering from many types of microbial infections. However, microbial infection is diagnosed with the help of clinical microbiology methods. But microbial infections are growing very rapidly with time but clinical microbiology methodology has not been converted into advanced operations. Therefore, our health system shows a weak system against the health emergency. But nowadays, few advanced technologies are inserted in the clinical microbiology field like genome sequencing process, polymer chain reaction process, flow cytometry, automated cell counter, etc. which provide the help to produce more reliable and accurate results as compared to the conventional clinical microbiology techniques. Because conventional clinical microbiology methodology is based on the manual culture process with clinician experts. Therefore, it has a high chance of error during the results. Therefore, a clinical microbiology laboratory requires a total automation process that can minimize errors and improve result quality. In this chapter, we discussed the need for automation in clinical microbiology laboratories with some conventional and advanced clinical microbiology techniques. We also summarized the future scope of the advancement of clinical microbiology techniques. Therefore, this chapter takes attention to the medical microbiology field.
