Depletable and Non-renewable Energy Resources: Coal and Oil Resources

This chapter introduces the production and consumption of coal and petroleum resources in China, then evaluates the utilisation efficiency of China's coal and petroleum using the DEA model and Malmquist index analysis, and finally examines the public management policies for coal and petroleum resources. Section 9.1 of this chapter introduces the research idea and methodology of this chapter. Section 9.2 introduces the total amount and distribution of coal and oil resources in China. Section 9.3 discusses the efficiency of coal and oil resources in China, and evaluates the efficiency of coal and oil based on the DEA model, and then analyses the reasons for the inefficiency using the Malmquist index analysis. Section 9.4 describes China's public management policies for coal and oil resources, which are divided into energy resource substitution policies and efficiency improvement policies. Section 9.5 summarises the above.
