Schistosomiasis

Schistosomiasis is an acute and chronic waterborne parasitic disease characterized by blood in the urine and/or faeces and hepatomegaly commonly affecting children. They get anaemic and debilitated. Growth may be stunted. People at risk are those exposed to infested water such as agricultural, fishing, occupational (washerman), recreational, and swimming.
