Candidiasis
摘要
The microbiome on the human skin, mucous membranes, gastrointestinal tract and female genital tract includes Candida and other yeast species. Candidiasis is an opportunistic infection caused by Candida, a type of fungi, which are eukaryotic organisms found in the form of yeasts, moulds or dimorphic fungi (Arya and Rafiq 2023). Nearly 10% of Candida species are pathogenic and associated with mild to severe and localized to serious even life-threatening deep-seated invasive infections. The incidence of candidemia is increasing and being reported from all parts of the world.
