Epidemiology of Mycotic Zoonoses

Fungi may appear in sexual or teleomorph and asexual or anamorph forms. The teleomorphic names are used in taxonomy. The teleomorphic groups are Zygomycota (form zygospores), Ascomycota (ascospores) and Basidiomycota (basidiospores). The fourth group of fungi is Deuteromycota (fungi imperfecta) for which the sexual state is either not known or nor described.
