Oroya Fever

Carrion’s disease is a biphasic illness. Oroya fever is the acute phase of life-threatening disease of immunologically naïve population such as children. Oroya fever is characterized by acute haemolytic anaemia. Peruvian warts or verruga peruana is a chronic phase characterized by chronic vascular proliferative cutaneous lesions.
