Rabies or hydrophobia (in man) is an acute rapidly progressing severe encephalomyelitis almost always ending in death. It is a direct anthropozoonosis caused by rabies virus which infects all warm-blooded animals. Hydrophobia is preceded by frightening and painful bite by a vicious rabid dog, discomfort, anxieties and risk of uncertainties and characterized by terrifying and agonizing bouts of intense sufferings.
