Epidemiology Vector-Borne Diseases (VBDs)
摘要
Vectors are living organisms that can transmit infectious pathogens between humans or from animals to humans. Generally, these are insects, in which most are blood-sucking. The pathogens are ingested during a blood meal from infected hosts, human or animal, suffering from a disease or asymptomatic. The pathogens multiply in their body and are transmitted to other hosts during another blood meal. The vectors can carry pathogens through the rest of their life.
