‘Break-bone fever or bone-crusher disease’ is the nickname suggestive of excruciating pain, ‘Dandy’ as was called by certain natives of East Indies because of the peculiar stiff gait of the patient, dengue haemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome.
