Strongyloidiasis

The World Health Organization (2020) has alerted healthcare workers in tropical and sub-tropical areas, where soil-transmitted parasites, especially strongyloidiasis, are prevalent, about the use of corticosteroids given to patients suspected of infection with SARS-COV-2. Globally, over 600 million people are estimated to be infected by Strongyloides stercoralis.
