Electrode Setups and Water Electrolysis Technologies
摘要
This book chapter offers an inclusive summary of electrode setups and water electrolysis technologies, focusing on electrocatalysts, their function, and their role in electrode potential. The chapter discusses the selection of counter, working, and reference electrodes in the context of electrochemical reactions. The different electrode setups, ranging from two to three electrode systems, are presented, including their advantages and disadvantages. The chapter also covers various water electrolysis technologies and their applications, such as alkaline, acidic, and membrane electrolysis, providing insights into their efficiency and selectivity. The stability of precious and non-precious metals under different conditions and media is discussed in detail. The main objective is to provide a comprehensive overview of electrode setups and water electrolysis technologies, highlighting the fundamental principles and mechanisms involved in these critical processes.
