Modeling and Supervisor Design for a Baggage Handling System
摘要
In the present paper, the modeling of a baggage handling system for airports is presented. The model of the system is derived by developing the models of its subsystems in the form of finite deterministic automata. The desired behavior of the system is to prevent baggage overflow and will be expressed in the form of one rule. From this rule, a regular language, being parametric with respect to the maximum number of the allowed objects (baggage) in every Transport Section of the BHS, will be presented. The respective parametric supervisor, realizing the language, will be designed. An intelligent scheme will be proposed to calculate the maximum allowable number of loads, providing a reconfigurable supervisor scheme. For every Transport Section, an intelligent alert system will be designed for the detection of baggage stuck. The alert system will be expressed in the form of a regular language and then realized in the form of a finite deterministic automaton being reconfigurable with respect to the critical delay of an object (baggage) in front of a sensor, corresponding to baggage stuck.
