Training

摘要

A prominent way of producing awareness for digital security in companies are security trainings. This chapter unfolds as a sequence of events a digital security emergency exercise organized by the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT). The training is observed as a ceremony of purification—involving negotiation and the production of a specific ontology of digital security. The training performs digital security as something that is prepared—not prevented. The chapter converses with literature in anthropology on preparedness and risk mitigation to articulate digital security readiness. The chapter ends with three implications discussing the role of trainings in digital security pedagogy, the will to create resilience rather than prevention, and draws together the previous chapters by juxtaposing training with testing and tinkering enactments of digital security.
