Egocentric Networks Design in Tourism’s Indigenous Social Enterprises
摘要
Collaborative networks represent an opportunity for indigenous social enterprises. These networks provide the possibility to bring resources and knowledge to offset business development needs. Hence, the research aim of this work was to design egocentric networks that show how the social capital of the indigenous social enterprises of nature tourism in the Mezquital Valley is composed; besides identifying what type of resources are available in these organizations and detecting opportunities for improving social capital and encourages the development of business capabilities. We applied social network analysis as methodology approach, collecting data from semi-structured interviews with four leaders of indigenous social enterprises and other actors of these networks. The results show networks and the support of their configuration. Findings suggest structures with the potential for growth and diversification according to the type of actors’ relationships. Indeed, we detected scarce relationships that encourage the development of business capabilities; this means an opportunity to activate relationships with actors such as SECTURH and UTVM, which provide training oriented toward business development.
