College English Curriculum Reform in China

This chapter revisits the history of college English curriculum reform in China, to help readers better understand the situated context of the current study. It first explains the importance of English language education in China and proceeds to delineate its historical development. The main body of the chapter contributes to the history of college English and new challenges it faces.
