Reliability Analysis of Strength of Stabilised Soil

  • Ansu Thomas

摘要

The possibility and use of recycling industrial by-product for stabilising soils has great benefits in soft soil stabilisation. The present study is focussed on evaluating the effectiveness of various input parameters in the design strength of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and alkali activated ground granulated blast furnace slag (AGGBS) stabilised soil. The study shows variation in the input parameters considerably affects the strength development in stabilised soils and a less conservative design strength value of stabilised soil can be obtained using reliability based analysis. Design strength value for unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of OPC and AGGBS stabilised soils can be taken as 540 and 600 kPa for obtaining an above average performance.
