摘要

Patimban port is located approximately 100 km eastern of Jakarta metropolitan area, and it was planned as an artificial land about 1 km offshore of Subang coast. The very soft ground is laying in the project area, and then finally, it was found that PVD method with pre-loading, a conventional soft ground improvement method, is less effective. To construct the stable reclaimed land, the soft ground was improved by cement deep mixing method (CDM). In addition, cement pipe mixing method (CPM), which can reuse the dredged soil as a reclamation material and reduce the borrow soils, was adopted as a stabilization method of fill material. This paper intends to share the information of one good example of manmade island reclamation with CDM and CPM combined method together with details of design of such a method and soil properties of very soft clay targeted for this ground improvement.
