An Experimental Study on Vietnam’s Circulating Resources Including Fly Ash for Soil Mixing Method

By-products from thermal power plants in Vietnam are approaching 100 million tons, and ground blast furnace slag (GBFS) from the Vietnamese steel industry is also emitted more than 7 million tons in 2020. This study conducted various tests of the by-products in Vietnam and investigated their applicability for chemical injection method and soil mixing method. As a result of the applicability of the chemical injection method, the average gel time was 90 seconds and the homogel compressive strength was measured at 2.38–2.82 MPa after 7 days of curing. A compressive strength tests showed that Vietnamese fly ash and GBFS can be used as soil stabilizer for the ground mixing method. And the gel time and homogel strength can be also suitable.
