Undrained Shear Strength Increase of Clay Among SCPs Examined in the Triaxial Cell
摘要
Influence of SCP installation on the undrained shear strength increase of clay among SCPs was examined in the triaxial cell simulating a series of processes consisting of consolidation at the overburden effective stress (i.e., in situ condition before construction), extensional deformation caused by SCP installation, increase of lateral confining stress, K0-consolidation under the overburden effective stress after SCP installation, and undrained shearing. It was clarified that the undrained shear strength of clay among SCPs increases due to SCP installation; however, the increment of undrained shear strength, and strain at failure as well, depends on the increment of lateral stress, that is, replacement area ratio due to SCP installation.
