摘要

This paper discusses the analytical calculation model for pile buckling in cohesive soil based on second-order theory, which is included in the forthcoming second generation of Eurocode 7. The paper explains the model and provides diagrams showing the variation in buckling length for slender steel pipe piles of different dimensions in soils with varying undrained shear strengths. The 2nd gen. Eurocode 7 permits soil resistance beyond the plastic point along part of the buckling length, but it does not provide any calculation model. The paper presents an analytical calculation model for the transverse resistance when the plastic point is reached, based on a reduced equivalent transverse resistance. It also discusses the implications of allowing the soil to reach the plastic point. The paper provides calculation results of pile buckling for fully embedded steel pipe piles in cohesive soil using second-order theory.
