Comparing Prestressed Wales System and Traditional Shoring System Method for a Deep Excavation Using Bored Pilling Wall in Ho Chi Minh City
摘要
Deep excavation is one of the most sophisticated stages during structural construction, because of its high-cost and time-consuming nature. Shoring system is a customary method when it comes to basement excavation support in Ho Chi Minh City. However, this method suffers from a number of pitfalls, such as limited workspace, prolonged installation, and very expensive. Accordingly, this manuscript presents a novel earth retention system, namely prestressed wale system, in which the work ability and cost of the novel system are compared with those of its traditional counterpart. Through a comprehensive comparison, the advantages of the prestressed wale system are highlighted, for example, speeding up the excavation procedure and saving material and labor costs.
