Polynomial Regression Analysis Method for Predicting Excavation-Induced Deformation in Shanghai Soft Soil

摘要

With the development and utilization of urban underground space, the surrounding environment of excavation become more complex, and it is of great engineering significance to predict the excavation-induced deformation in Shanghai soft soil area. The main factors affecting the excavation-induced deformation were determined by orthogonal test, including initial shear modulus of soil G0, the thickness of wall d, and the width of wall B. According to the distribution of soil layer in Shanghai and the common support forms of excavation, several simplified excavation configurations were proposed. A large number of calculation cases were carried out using PLAXIS with Python to calculate the deformation by varying the main influencing factors of deformation. Through the regression analysis of the calculation results, a simplified method for predicting the excavation-induced deformation in Shanghai soft soil area was derived and then verified by 32 excavation cases.
