Undrained Bearing Capacity of Strip Footing on Clayey Soil Subjected to Combined Eccentric and Inclined Loads
摘要
This study aims to assess the bearing capacity of a strip footing on uniform clayey soil subjected to combined eccentric and inclined loads using the rigid plastic finite element method (RPFEM). The footing is considered to be rigid and rough at the contact plane, as it most often is in reality. The research extensively investigated the influence of soil properties on the load inclination factor ic to determine the adequacy of current design methods. Specifically, the study examined how the horizontal load's opposite directions affect the ultimate bearing capacity and the limit load space in the V-H-M space. Through a series of numerical analyses, the study proposed new equations for the load inclination factor ic and the limit load space in the V-H-M space, accounting for the direction of the horizontal load.
