Work–Life Balance and OCB: A Review of Existing Literature
摘要
The global scenario of organizational behaviour in modern times has acknowledged the contribution of organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB), which possesses revolutionary characteristics. OCB has been widely recognized in previous research for its ability to promote work motivation and job satisfaction. This concept is further evolving with the incorporation of characteristics that are contributing to the advancement of the field of organizational behaviour, specifically by inculcating a practice of lesser resource utilization. The present chapter aims at exploring the relationship between OCB and work–life balance. Past research studies, theories and articles have been studied comprehensively and an understanding of this relationship is presented from a contemporary perspective. Additionally, various mediating and moderating variables such as job performance, job satisfaction, job-role effectiveness, organizational commitment, organizational climate, personal resources, social intelligence, personality and work motivation have been taken into account to examine this relationship at both organizational and individual (employee) levels.
