The Social and Political Aggressions of B. R. Ambedkar: Interrogating His Childhood Traumas and Denial of Childhood

Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was a member of the Mahar caste, which is classified as one of India’s untouchable/Dalit classes. Following the successful completion of his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mumbai, Dr. Ambedkar proceeded to pursue his Doctor of Philosophy degree at Columbia University in New York from 1913 to 1916. He then earned both a master’s and a doctorate degree in economics from the London School of Economics throughout the period of 1916–1922. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, made significant contributions to the anti-caste movement in India, amplifying the voices of several marginalised populations and advocating for their emancipation and the restoration of their fundamental rights and dignity.
