Alternatives to RRT in Studying Sensitive and Stigmatizing Issues
摘要
For surveys involving sensitive questions, randomized response techniques (RRTs) and other indirect questions are helpful in obtaining survey responses while maintaining the privacy of the respondents. The RRT is controlled by interviewers, which makes it difficult to convince the respondents that their privacy is protected by randomization. Alternatives to RRTs are also coming up in recent years. Other indirect questioning includes three-card method, several non-randomized methods, the item count technique, nominative technique to estimate finite population proportion \(\theta\) of a sensitive characteristic \(A\) .
