Rehabilitation Aspects in Trauma Patients
摘要
The role of doctors in rehabilitation has been changing over the years. As was the case in earlier times when it would be enough for the doctor to only provide symptomatic relief, now it is not enough. Doctors are required to be involved till the patient is actively engaged in society to treat his pre-diseased conditions. The purpose of this chapter is to investigate various changes in the field of rehabilitation and what they mean for doctors and patients. How trauma of any type can be handled by a team of rehabilitation experts, and what are the latest norms they should accept? The chapter also intends to highlight what is happening in Indian resource constraint settings. The chapter will move forward after briefly taking a ride through the history of rehabilitation over the ages. Suggested cross-cutting relevant reading material available will be shared at the end of the chapter.
