State of the Art

This chapter gives a comprehensive review of the state-of-the-art in IoV with respect to connection, cooperation, and intelligence. Specifically, it first reviews representative studies on data dissemination in IoV, including vehicular communication protocols, emerging service architectures, and scheduling algorithms. Then, it reviews literatures on cloud-based, edge-based, and end-edge-cloud cooperated services in IoV. Finally, it reviews related work on vehicular edge intelligence (VEI), including key enabler technologies, cooperative sensing and information fusion technologies, and the VEI empowered intelligent transportation systems.
